Pamela Leggett-Robinson will receive the Stanley C. Israel Regional Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences at the Southeastern Regional Meeting
The award will be presented at ACS SERMACS in San Juan, Puerto Rico October 19-22, 2022.
The Award recognizes individuals and/or institutions who have advanced diversity in the chemical sciences and significantly stimulated or fostered activities that promote inclusiveness within the region. Dr. Leggett-Robinson has been an active member of the American Chemical Society for 20+ years and has served on numerous National ACS Committees. Within the Georgia Local Section of ACS, she has served as Chair/Co-Chair of the Minority Affairs Committee, Co-Chair of the MAC Scholarship Committee, Member at Large, and Secretary. Most recently, Dr. Leggett-Robinson garnered funds from the Subcommittee on Grants and Awards of the ACS Local Section Activities Committee for the project: “Increasing a Diverse ACS Membership through Local Section Efforts: Chemistry Pipeline Retention (CPR)”. The project was implemented with Drs. Laurel Royer (Lead) and Nichole Powell (Co-Lead).
