Spelman College and PLR Consulting work to disrupt math barriers for APS students through a Google CS-ER Award
Congratulations to Dr. Tamara Pearson (Principal Investigator, Director - Center of Excellence for Minority Women in STEM, Spelman College) and Dr. Pamela Leggett-Robinson (Founder, Lead Evaluator, PLR Consulting) on their Google Computer Science Education Research (CS-ER) Award for the proposal “Disrupting Mathematics as a Barrier to Computer Science through Summer Learning opportunities.” The funded proposal aims to disrupt mathematical barriers to computer science for Black Students in the Atlanta Public School system (10th and 11th grades) through a summer computer science program while building student interest and self-efficacy in both Math and Computer Science.
